Mental Health First Aid Training
This eight-hour course teaches participants how to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.
You will learn risk factors, warning signs and symptoms for a range of mental health problems.
Mental Health First Aid is listed on the National Suicide Prevention Registry of Evidence-Based Programs.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in four Americans experience some form of diagnosable mental disorder in a given year.
Mental illnesses includes depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress syndrome, schizophrenia and substance abuse addictions.
You will also learn what to do when you encounter a person in crisis.
Successful completion of the course includes a three-year Mental Health First Aid certification.
