Our next Caring Contact Crisis Counselor Training will begin in the fall 2024.

Our 11-week hybrid training class (in-person and remote) will begin mid-September.  Classes will meet one evening a week from 6:30pm-9:30pm.

Included in the training, our Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training class (ASIST) will be held on a Saturday and Sunday in late October. The training will be from 8:30am-4:30pm, both days are required.

If you are interested, please apply (see button above).

If you have questions, please email our Executive Director, Mary Claire Givelber here.  Or call our office at (908) 301-1899.

The course includes dynamic and interactive presentations by guest experts in active listening, grief recovery, mental health issues and suicide intervention. You will develop the ability to listen actively, assess the needs of someone in crisis and provide empathy and support.

Volunteer Listener Training is taught by trainers who are long-time listeners and nationally certified instructors in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
