Caring Contact is proud to introduce our 2026–2027 Board of Trustees, a dedicated group of leaders committed to strengthening mental health support and expanding access to compassionate care throughout Central and Northern New Jersey.
“On July 16 the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline will change its 10-digit phone number to “988”, making it easier for those in emotional distress to get the help they need. With this change will come an increase in calls to Caring Contact”, said Mary Claire Givelber, Executive Director of Caring Contact. “The Summit Foundation’s generosity will ensure that Caring Contact has more trained listeners available to answer these calls.”
Our executive director, Mary Claire Givelber, joins the discussion with NorthJersey.com around the changes to the crisis line as 988 rolls out in July.
Caring Contact on Friday announced it has been awarded a major grant in the amount of $15,000 from The Northfield Bank Foundation to support building hotline capacity for the launch of “988” in 2022.
